Choose healthier alternatives to snacks such as popcorn and not chips, or water instead of soda. Also, begin working out more often. Take your kids out for a walk. Inform your spouse that you want to get some fresh air. After a while, they will recognize your new habits as a new way of life, and they will even understand what your goals for losing weight are without you needing to specifically mention it to them.

Make sure the goals you've set are achievable. When you begin sharing your weight reduction goals with others, don't exaggerate your expectations. Start with small changes. Do not be in a hurry. Slowly you can go to a different kind of living with changed food habits for the better. Don't make tall promise if you have difficulty in stopping to eat chips cold turkey. Make a note of how you plan to proceed, list your goals and what motivates you, write out your pledge to yourself. Show it to all who are willing to look! You'll be able to share your weight loss goals with others around you and they'll know that you're serious and dedicated to getting healthier.
