Why Diets Cause You to Gain Weight

It's true, diets actually make you fatter. I know. It is a total 180 of what we have been told for years. But think about it. There is a common element that exists in every diet that literally causes weight gain. Keep reading this article to know the truth about diets see how you can successfully lose weight.

As stated above, almost every diet program has 1 thing in common. That is extremely low calories. Most fad diets today require you to drastically limit the number of calories you consume each day.

At the beginning, you may see positive results. You may lose a quick 5 or 10 pounds. But it is only temporary. Truth be told, any weight loss from dieting is only water and lean muscle mass, not fat. Weight consists of water, muscle and fat, but fat is 100% fat.

You see, our bodies are simply too smart to let you willingly starve yourself. When you starve your body, it automatically stores fat to use as energy. You can't stop it. So, when you stop seeing results from your diet, you either give up, or you reduce your calories (starve yourself) even more.

Eventually, the result is always the same. You always end up giving up on the diet because you can't keep dropping your calories forever. You have to eat. It's at this point where you end up going back to your old eating habits and gain all your weight back...and usually more.

So if you truly want to lose fat, not weight, don't go on a diet. You will probably end up frustrated and gaining more weight. There are proven fat loss programs available that have helped people successfully lose alot of weight and keep it off.
