Weight training has to be a part of your exercise program. Very often women are afraid to lift weights but if you want tight and slim legs then weight training is very important. First of all weight training or strength training, what ever you would like to call it, will give your metabolism a boost, meaning you burn more calories around your body, including your legs.

Your legs muscles are the largest muscle group in your body, so working out with light weights with high repetitions is not the most effective. Using heavier weigths with lower repetitions are more effective tone your leg muscles. Aerobic activity does not work your muscles hard enough to make a big difference to the speed of your metabolism. Your metabolism is like a big furnace that burns calories and strength training raises the amount of calories you burn. The more calories you burn, the more fat you lose.

Eating small meals is also very important for several reasons and you have probably heard of this before. But eating small frequent meals 5-6 times a day around 300 or so calories with each meal. The food of course hast to be high quality and unprocessed, as much as possible. Eating small frequent meals not only gives you the energy you need for intense training sessions but also like strength training will boost your metabolism. For best results having 20-30 grams of protein with every meal is important.
