Too many people start their weight loss journey without realising what it is they need to do. Often, people are still weighed down by the old habits and beliefs of what is required. And one of the most common of these beliefs is the one that you need to starve yourself if you want to reap any benefits when it comes to losing weight
This is not only unnecessary, it is actually counter-productive. Unknown to the vast majority of people, starving yourself actually makes your body "lazier". Your body realises that it doesn't have enough energy, so it slows down the rate at which it uses the energy - your metabolism decreases.
Decreased metabolism
The decreased metabolism means that even if you take in fewer calories, you actually don't gain any benefit, as you're also using fewer calories. Additionally, the lack of food actually makes you miserable. This misery is one of the most frequent reasons people give as to why they stop their weight loss journey before it is completed
So, there you can see why you shouldn't starve yourself to lose weight. Instead, you need to find the right foods to eat. With the right diet, you can easily lose weight without denying yourself and becoming totally miserable.
