Finally in desperation, I stumbled across a combination of programs totally by accident. I had tried diet and exercise together, but what I had tied only once before was weight training. What had I never done prior to now? I had never done diet, cardio and weight training all at the same time.
Totally by accident, one program overlapped the other by a few weeks and I started to lose weight quite rapidly. You see, you need all three elements in your weight loss regimen to lose weight rapidly and keep it off for good. Weight training quickly builds muscle and boosts metabolism. Cardiovascular exercise burns fat and helps you to lose pounds quickly. A good solid food plan controls calories and will both nourish your body and reduce hunger naturally.
To do one without doing the other is only doing a fraction of what your body needs to break down the right kind of tissue, fat, and give you the lasting and healthy weight loss that you are trying to achieve.
What else did I learn? There are already lots of good programs out there, but very few are totally complete. I got the best results from a good weight loss program that knows about solid nutrition and a separate muscle building weight training program.
